
New Delhi experienced widespread rain on Wednesday, bringing down the temperature but keeping the sky cloudy. This led to waterlogging in various areas. The Meteorological department issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain on Thursday. The maximum temperature decreased by about four degrees, with Safdarjung recording 32.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius, with humidity ranging from 70% to 100%. Most of the rain occurred between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm, with varying amounts recorded at different locations. Weather analysts predict a decrease in rain intensity over the next few days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33 and 25 degrees Celsius on Thursday.There was stagnant water at AIIMS flyover and Dhaula Kuan due to moderate rainfall. Public Works Department (PWD) officials reported that Mundka area experienced temporary traffic disruptions, which were swiftly resolved. The PWD official at the central flood control room mentioned that although there were 52 waterlogging complaints, most were addressed by quick response teams. Notably, underpasses such as Minto Bridge and Pragati Maidan remained largely unaffected. Various parts of the city saw traffic slowdowns, with key areas like Ring Road towards Dhaula Kuan, Tilak Nagar, Chanakyapuri, Kalindi Kunj flyover, GT Karnal Road near GTK Depot, Adhchini Red Light, Shivalik Red Light in Malviya Nagar, and Mathura Road towards Badarpur being impacted. Additionally, traffic was disrupted on Mathura Road as a bus broke down at Madanpur Khadar.
